Lotus GT1

The Lotus GT1, a car which I am only really familiar with from the days of the 'Need for Speed 2' computer game.

I spent hours of my life playing that when I was younger and always chose the Lotus GT1, because I loved the looks and felt it had the best charactistics for my computer-based racing style!

I was just looking up some pics of it and if I'm reading and looking at the right things, is it really a beefed up Elise? :confused:

Rob, your right, it is a beefed up Elise and not an Exige, but they do go under both names, as for power, will have to do some checking on that one!

from what i can gather from a forum I found it's about $645 000 so alot. It also seems that it was origanally a turbo but in FIA they wouldn't allow turbo's so Lotus ditched the turbo only for the rule to change again and turbo's be allowed, unfortunatly for Lotus, they didn't have time to change things yet again and so consequently it never won a race a was ditched after the first year! Shame.

It is an Elise in style but yes it does use the Esprit V8 engine but it is over 500lbs lighter so get's a better output.
