From todays papers ..........good news .....

LONG-term Rolls-Royce production is to remain in the UK.

The news came as the company launch its latest model — the £305,000 Phantom Drophead.

And German owners BMW said the 600-strong workforce in Goodwood, West Sussex, may RISE by several hundred to meet demand for further new models.

They have already invested more than £65million on reviving the brand since buying it for just £40million in 1998.

There is already a two-year waiting list for the Phantom Drophead — set to be the world’s most exclusive convertible.

Would-be customers have offered dealers £100,000 to try to jump the queue and an 88-year-old tycoon has paid £1million to get his four weeks before anyone else in the US

I saw one of the Phantom Drop heads at Silverstone a few weeks ago, the guy was a development engineer doing an experience! He brought it along to give it a test run!

Apparantly it weighs around 2.25 Tonnes and has over 600BHP. It certainly looked imposing and very very big.

I liked the quote from the luxury car dealer saying that he would pay 80k over the list price to anybody who's name is at the top of list for one of these dropheads.
