A quick update before the next time attack at the Retro show in July.

I took the car out for testing last weekend and the recent mods are paying off. I've got a shed load more torque and traction. And I reeled in a new 1/4 mile PB of 11.29 seconds. She's a bit of a handfull off the line, but a bit of wrestling soon gets her back into shape.

Awesome picture Perry. Love the deformation of the rear tyres. We really must get along to see you run eventually. Are you trying for this years W'boro P of P?

I'm more interested in the air under the front tyre Tony :))

I tried for last year Welly P of P but the organiser told me "road legal cars only"
Then my mates tell me they all took their non legal rods along with no problems???

Trust me, some of the beasts going round that night were NOT road legal.

Maybe I should just turn up this year with the B on the trailer and see what happens eh??

Where do we meet up?

They normally use The Castle car park as a mustering area and park up in the Market Square after the parade. If they didn't let you join the parade, parking in the square is open to anyone.

I managed to queeze a bit more off this weekend.
I'm now down to 11.24 seconds on the 1/4 mile. And she does this everytime I launch. Now I need to work on the suspension to stop this happening. Even though it does look quite cool eh?

Is it costing much time with the front end lifting or is it just a control problem? The entertainment value must be huge.

Thats really impressive

The wheelstands are no doubt costing me some time on the run.
I'm working on that now to reduce this effect. But I am now going to rebuld the engine as I think i have maxxed out this stock Rover lump.
I'm fitting new stronger pistons and doing some home porting on the heads so I can be ready to go for that 10 second pass at the Retro Show in July.
I've also just bought some tyre screws as the slicks are starting to spin on the rims on the launch. The nearside tyre span 2" last Saturday.
I have to remove the tyres and drill the rims. Then i have to refit the tyres and fit the scews. Then i have to get them rebalanced to suit.

I'm looking forward to the Retro Show now and its months away yet!!

I'm only looking to shave another 0.3 of a second off my average track times, but thats proving to be quite hard at the moment :(

Stock MG V8?

I don't recall too many BGT's having a hole in the bonnet :D

Thats a cracking photograph though :thumbs1:

Ha Ha!!

The hole in the bonnet is just cosmetic. I love the look of a Bug Catcher scoop. its just an air intake really. No supercharger underneath it I'm afraid.
Maybe one day!
