And congratulations to you! I am becoming more of a fan for the fastback GT than the saloon, unless they change what I've already seen. Will look awesome on your drive and nice colour choice!! :)

Colour scheme - ha, ha Dave, only three people know the colour scheme: dealer principal, me and Sue! Even you'll have to wait until I go to collect it/you collect your 'new' wheels off of me!

Lead time Andy, officially between 4-6 weeks, however it's likely to be sooner. If I have it by the end of the month then I will see if I can re arrange my calendar and get down to a meet!

Now I'm waiting for the phone call to say 'come and collect' which could be anytime in the next six weeks!!!!

If it's gonna take 6 weeks to deliver your car Jerry, can we be optimistic and assume that MG have sold all of the cars they must have already produced, I wonder ???.

Jerry Zedman

The order was processed today. No doubt I'll find out this week when it's due. In some ways I'd be happy if it takes 3 weeks - more time to sort out the last of the first payment!

Jerry - do the cars have the GT badge on them at the dealer now ?.

GT, you've gone from ZRs/Rover 200s to a MG ZT. You've now put away the pipe and slippers - mid life crisis - and headed back to ya youf with a retro car!!!!

I will be interested to know how you get on with it. I drove ademonstrator on Saturday and came away quite impressed, but see if any aftermarket gearknobs can be fitted as the OE item is nasty

[QUOTE=autovids;89617Jerry - do the cars have the GT badge on them at the dealer now ?.[/QUOTE]

The two demo models (SE and TSE variant) didn't have them on but they were made/delivered prior to the announcement. There is a possibility that they will not have GT actually on the car but will still be known as the MG6GT which.....doesn't quite make sense! Once I know more I'll let you know!

I wonder if this means we could have some funky 'GT' badges available for sale?

Can't think why I might like this idea

So who thinks that Jerry has been brave and opted for the burnt orange for his MG6 GT ?.

Magnette Man

I'm going with either Red (because he liked the one at Longbridge and Apple's demonstrator), or Black because if I remember rightly you said the car in the brochure "looked smart".

Jerry Zedman
18-05-2011, 08:09 AM
Dave, in the brochure there was ONLY black! I like the MG6GT in following colours:

Red
Blue
Black
Grey

The colour I have selected is.................

You'll have to wait and see!

Update as per this afternoon:

Jerry,

Good news. The car is being collected from here tomorrow afternoon. The contract we have with the transport company states that they must deliver within five days – usually it is quicker than that but it depends on vehicle loads as they’ll probably do a number of pickups prior to heading south for efficiencies. Get set for the call from Apple shortly!

Regards

Keith Harris

Woohoo!! I may be able to collect it this w/e or during next week. :thumbs2:

Brilliant! I am curious what colour you have chosen!

Mrs W and I took a white SE out for a test drive today, and woohoo, she likes, now just to convince her that it's worth parting with the cash! I have to say that all the negatives in the various road tests did not seem to be present in the car we drove, I began to wonder if I was actually in the same model as the ones tested. The interior quality seems excellent, better than our Mazda5 by a long way. Both of us found the handbrake quite easy to use despite the seemingly odd button position. We both really liked the seating position and the comfort and grip they provide (like my ZT according to Mrs W). The passenger cup-holder didn't bash any knees (please note AutoCar, it's not a driver's cupholder!) and I found the onboard menu system quite intuitive to use, and I liked the fact the sat-nav told you what the speed limit was for the road you were on in the separate dash display.

Graham Walker had one of every colour in stock, too, and a burnt orange one with a sold sign on it.

Jerry Zedman
07-06-2011, 10:51 PM
Hopefully you'll all find out the colour within the next week when I post photos up of it!!!! :kiss1:

Re quality of the TSE you drove, yep, I can second that! All three are excellent! :thumbs2:

Off topic, what did you think of Dust Bowl?

Jerry Zedman
08-06-2011, 07:50 AM
I will always be Zedman. This carries over into the new car so no need to change....!

:offtopic:
Dust Bowl - Tony and I listened to both cds in the car on the way back to his.....very bluesy indeed. I will need to listen to it again without road noise affecting it before I comment fully. Thanks once again for both discs. :thumbs2:

Alex, Alex, Alex. If you go into hiding then you won't find these things out, will you!!!!

I've just come back from two weeks holiday in Northern France (one week North of Le Mans, one week in Normandy South of Omaha Beach, West of Bayeaux) and have now covered 3000 miles. The car is BRILLIANT!!!!!! , The engine has lots of torque and plenty of acceleration for overtakes. The turbo sounds great - with the windows open it's wonderful to hear the 'woosh'!!!

More later with photos!

KelV6

Torque steer? if not then it needs more bhp, aka the MG Montego Turbo :D
Looking forward to the piccies. What did the french make of the car? My Monty, even all those years ago turned a few heads!

I've just uploaded a test photo and it shows pending approval...maybe you're trying to upload too many at a time and then if it takes too long PC cancels upload....try doing just one and see what happens.

JUST GUESSING !!!

Nah, one photo to attach to a post, that's all, under Manage attachments part of posting a new thread. Had issue a while back. Will speak with GT or Tony to see if they've got a solution (maybe a settings issue).

Anyway, bed for me. We shall speak laters my friend. You going to be around on FB tomorrow for a chat? I hope so!

Looks very well from the front and interesting from the back but from some angles it's a bit strange to me...guess I'm stuck in the old fashioned british styled MG's, but sure this will sell far better.

Anybody knows if they're going to sell them in the rest of European countries ?

Cheers,

Alex

Tony

European sales are planned aparently, but I don't know when they are due to start.
