Our annual 'British Cars Enthusiasts Rally' get-together at Wicksteed Park, Northamptonshire, was a huge success for Make-A-Wish Foundation (UK), raising over £840!
Since 1980, Make-A-Wish Foundation (UK) has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. Two wish children with dreams granted by the charity came along to support the day and assisted by choosing the Best in Show for the Pride of Ownership competition. With free access to the parks rides courtesy of Wicksteed they were also able to make the most of the fun activities the park has to offer.

For the petrolheads, there was a large array of British cars to drool over, with a good showing of both TVR and Lotus models of all ages, as well as both classic and modern MG and Rovers. The Northamptonshires MGOC group pulled off a real coup by providing cars from a 1928 MG 14/40 through to a 2004 MG TF. Other MG's included the usual array of Bs and Midgets, as well as an MGA, Magnette ZA, Metros, Maestros and a Montego! Other owners arrived in various models from a Jaguar XK8, Wolseley 6/80, Morris Minor, a Mini, and a Rover P6 and a SD1. |
| Event coordinator Tony Palmer said "Thank you to all the sponsors and the team of hard working individuals that have made it possible for us to support a worthwhile cause through this event, but the biggest thanks must be to the British Car drivers who brought their pride and joy along to share with us all." |

The prize of the 'Best in Show' award (donated by Team RAC) went to Martin Rowles in his Lotus Elise 111s. He said, "It was very special for the two Make-A-Wish girls to pick my car as best in show. For possibly the first time ever I was completely speechless."
Natalie Martin-Loat, regional manager for Make-A-Wish said, "Thanks for a brilliant day on Sunday, the wish children really enjoyed it and it was great for their families to add another happy memory to their thoughts"

This year we had over 80 cars on display and approximately 200 people attending. We are hoping to better the success in 2007, with promises of more of your favourite British cars, including TVRs and Lotus, as well as support from more clubs as this becomes an established event.
We wish to thank Wicksteed Park, Team RAC/WSR Racing, Peter Best Insurance, Leda Suspension, Executive Motoring Services, and all the people that travelled to the show that helped to make it an enourmous success!
