Make-A-Wish Foundation UK - granting wishes of children and young people aged 3 to 17 living with life-threatening illnesses

British Car Enthusiasts Rally 2008, Supporting Make-A-Wish Foundation (UK)
By GT at 2008-03-26 14:54
After three increasingly successful years of running this show, we're going for number four!

The British Car Enthusiasts Rally 2008 will be at Wicksteed Park, Kettering, on Sunday 7th September and will again be supporting Make-A-Wish Foundation (UK).

Since 1980, Make-A-Wish Foundation (UK) has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. in 2007, we raised over £1200 for this worthwhile cause, while bringing some happiness to two terminally ill children in a direct way by having them at the event as our guests for the day. In 2008 we hope to beat the amount raised, but will need all the help we can get to do so.

Wicksteed Park in Kettering, Northamptonshire, is about 20mins North past Silverstone, almost at Rockingham Raceway.

Entrance to Wicksteed Park is a mere £6 per car (any number of passengers), it has wonderful landscaping for outdoor picnics etc, on site food facilities and plenty of ride/arcade facilities. All in all, its a great day out to have a good laugh and spend time with friends or family of all ages.

All monies from the day will go to the Make-A-Wish foundation, and they will be there to support us with one, maybe two wish children and their families.

Camping is available and there are local facilities for those who wish to make more than a day of it. 2007 saw us with many displays, including the RML Le-Mans team and Formula Jedi (high revving motorbike powered single seat screamers!).

The event is open to all marques with a British Heritage including Aston Martin, Caterham, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lotus, Mini, MG, Morgan, Morris, Noble, Riley, Rover, Triumph, TVR, Wolseley or any other.

Everyone is of course welcome, as clubs or individuals, we are aiming to have record numbers on display at the event, and we are looking to those who would be interested in helping us reach the targets.

Club display areas are also available (FOC) to those who book one in advance.

And there ends our little advert and plea, we would really like to make 2008 continue the trend of being bigger and better than the previous year, anyone who would be willing to help for this fantastic cause would be very welcomed!
