The Burnaston Plant is one of Toyota's UK based factories. Starting production on 16th December 1992, Burnaston employs 4,200 members of staff on a 580 acres (2.35 millions M2) site.

A Total of £1.15billion has been invested by Toyota in this plant which is responsible for the Pressing of panels, welding, painting, plastic moulding and assembly of cars. During 2005/2006 the plant was building the Avensis (4 and 5 door variants), the Corolla (3&5 door hatchback).

The well acclaimed Corolla is set to be replaced by the Auris 5 door hatchback in February 2007.

Total production figures for 2005 : 264,000 vehicles. (156,000 Avensis, 108,000 Corolla).
