A factory of a mixed past, formally part of the Rover Group empire of facilities, it is now owned by BMW Group and known simply as 'BMW Oxford', producing the post 2000 Mini.

Back in 1999 everything seemed like business as usual, little was anyone to know that 1 year later this factory was not to be a part of the Rover Group any more. After BMW disclosed its descision to split up and sell of parts of the Rover Group, the Cowley factory ceased producing the well acclaimed Rover 75 and instead housed the production facilities for the then new BMW Mini.
