Deeside, North Wales is the where Toyota manufacture the engines for their European distribution of cars. Employing 680 members of staff, the Deeside plant swarms 115 acres (0.48 million M2) and has facilities for aluminium casting, machining, assembly and testing. During 2005/2006 they were responsible for producing the VVT-i 1.4/1.6/1.8L petrol engines, plus machined parts for export.

Total productions figures for 2005 : 188,000 assembled engines, plus 300,000 machined sets for export to Toyota plants worldwide
