Ryton Factory, Coventry
By GT at 2008-02-18 17:46
The Ryton-on-Dunsmore Factory near Coventry, is currently home to production facilities for Peugeot cars, owned by the PSA Peugeot-Citroen, group.

However, it started life as home to the 'Rootes Group', a company that included British marques such as Hillman, Humber, Singer and Sunbeam.

The Rootes Group was purchased in 1967 by Chrysler and became a significant part of their European operations. However, in 1978 the group and factory was sold once more to Peugeot.

In 2006, PSA announced the factory was to close after 66 years of producing cars in Britain.
