The Club
The Bentley Drivers Club was formed in April 1936 by an enthusiastic band of Bentley owners with the object of fostering the spirit of comradeship which existed between Bentley drivers and generally to co-ordinate enthusiasm for the Marque. Initially the founder, Keston Pelmore, left a card on the windscreen of every Bentley in the car park at Brooklands early in 1936 inviting the owners to attend an informal meeting at his flat in Sloane Avenue, Chelsea.
The founding members were enthusiasts who recognised the engineering excellence that W.O. had created and with their considerable and combined efforts they laid the groundwork for what the Club is today. Among those who made major contributions are Keston Pelmore, Stanley Sedgwick, Lewis McKenzie, and Darell Berthon. The biographies of these individuals and other significant contributing members and now published on this website. Click here for Biographies.
Over the years The Bentley Drivers Club has grown and is now the focus of a world-wide Federation of Bentley Clubs with a membership of some 3,700. As well as housing the W.O. Bentley Memorial Foundation, [a comprehensive archive of historical documents, records and artifacts relating to the Bentley motor car], the Club provides its members with the following facilities.
