S-reg 416 MOT failure ????

A friend's 416 failed its MOT this week.
A couple of basic things like needing tyres, but he was failed on his brake lines, apparently showing rust - th egarage are not overcharging to replace but say they need to remove the fuel tank to replace the lines.

Also, advisories on radiator (repeat advisory from last year and given a previous HGF you'd think...) and also on the sump - it's gone porous.

I gather radiator shoudl be around £50, but any ideas on cost of sump and also how tough a job to do?

The oil sump on my 218 was a doddle to unbolt and remove the bottom half of (well... given 2 pairs of hands and some fiddling!) I cant recall much about the top part, but I have some pics at home I can share later on, if your interested?

Those rear brake pipes are a sod, but I did mine in situ with a multi-jointed body and forearms......

I will be back home next week, so will investigate this further. As he needs the car, the brake pipes are being done now. But rad and sump to sort still.
