FORMER BMW purchasing manager, Günther Link (55) was jailed for 3-years on Friday for corruption.
Link admitted charges of taking money from suppliers and of influencing decisions on new projects.
One of those decisions involved the new Mini now being built in Oxford.
The court heard how the purchasing manager caused the supplier, Valeo, to lose the contract to supply Oxford with the Mini's electrical system.
Instead, the contract went to Draximaier which was later replaced by another supplier.
Dräxlmaier was one of six suppliers investigated in the case. Faurecia, Lear, Intier, Grammer and M&H were the others.
Two other former BMW managers were questioned by police during the investigation, as well as 28 other employees.
Link said he accepted bribes of about EUR 900,000 between 2001 and 2005.
