Probably not very helpful reply, but I too just bought an MG - about 3 weeks ago. Ended up with a ZT+160, but this might have been quite tempting at the time as its got a lot lower mileage and seems in good condition!

Good to see another ZS has stayed with an enthusiast owner. However, confusion strikes - a MK 11 ?! Whatever happened to MKs 3 to 10 then ?

It just goes to show Mat that you aren't around on here that often. To anwer your question is simple:

MK3 to MK7 were set aside as part of the SAIC deal which fell through. MK8 to Mk10 were (and still are in China) to be used by NAC but that was put on hold due to the merger/takeover by SAIC (I believe the MG5 that is being shown on trade stands around Outer Mongolia are using a MK9 variant but this may in fact be one of the new MK12 models for this particular part of the world). This then brings us back to the MK11 which MGR did use on at least 3.5 models with one complete one being the one Rhysbloke has now sold to an enthusiast.
